Nebulae

Le Vitrail, 1254 rue Ste-Marthe

The new show Nebulae by harpist Valérie Milot presents an artistic and philosophical reflection through the science of astral phenomena.
The harp positions itself as a witness to the evolution of humans and their relationship with the universe. From the primary instrument called the lyre which it evokes in a constellation, then transcended by a complex harp with a thousand possibilities; a parallel is drawn between the evolution of art and science.
The human being develops complex tools, expressing what makes him singular, namely to be endowed with artistic expression and scientific understanding. Like this perfected harp, the power of today’s telescopes becomes a tool to dig deeper into human consciousness and push existential questions a little further.
This grandiose and omnipotent journey predisposes a philosophical reflection on existence. Ultimately, the human being adopts a humble positioning in relation to the universe. He becomes autonomous, devoid of all myth and religion, realizing that science is in itself poetry and that he must accept a part of the unknown.
An intimate concert tinged with reflections, humor and intoxicating music will weave a precious bond between the artist and the music lovers. The show is presented in a unique visual environment created by Quebec artisans and artists.

Aramusique

Les Quatres Saisons de Vivaldi : Le berger et L’orage

Théâtre Alphonse-Desjardins, 25 Allée de la Création

Through the Four Seasons of Vivaldi, the musicians of I Musici will show you the elements of nature, weather and village customs that Vivaldi himself asks the musicians to describe by their playing. The shepherd, true hero of this wild story, will live in turn the joy of the coming spring, the dances and the bagpipes of peasants, the peace of sleep lying in heaths, the morbid heaviness of the heatwave, the visceral fear of the storm, the alcoholic madness of the grape harvest, the hunting, the bitter cold of winter and the northern winds that wage war against each other. As a prelude to this extravagant epic, let yourself be charmed by Mozart’s delightful Divertimento no 1, K. 136, the work of a brilliant teenager, considered by many to be his very first symphony.
