Managed by the non-profit organization Boulv’Art Saint-Camille (BASC), LES CONCERTS DE LA CHAPELLE (LCDLC) aims to offer events in rural areas that promote concert music for both knowledgeable music lovers and the uninitiated. The program of these concert series includes both internationally acclaimed and emerging artists. LCDLC is committed to maintaining an affordable admission price to allow the greatest number of people to have access to a high-quality concert music program in their own area.
Although not exclusive, Early Music holds a special place in the program, especially Baroque music (17th and 18th centuries). The September concert, lit solely by candlelight, is devoted to the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. Solo, duo, trio and quartet are the most common formations heard throughout the season, which runs from spring to fall. In the off series, we include the entire repertoire of concert music.
Each concert is intended to be a real rendez-vous, an encounter. The concerts last 75 minutes without intermission. Throughout them, musicians accompany their performance with comments. As a toast to friendship, a glass of apple-cranberry must from a local producer is served at the end of the concert. This manner of closing these events is meant to foster informal exchanges between the public and the artists invited.
All musical events take place in the former church of the village of Saint-Camille, now owned by the municipality and renamed Le Camillois. The acoustics, which are favourable to unamplified instruments, as well as the various amenities found on the site, are the perfect answer to the demands of the public and the artists.
For baroque music, BASC owns a harpsichord, a spinet and a virginal. A 2nd harpsichord and a grand piano, courtesy of CANIMEX, have been added to this collection.

Since the dawn of time, composers have been inspired by bird songs. The first musical instruments were flutes and bird calls. But is it really possible to recreate bird song? This program evokes, through the fascination of humans for birds, a certain vision of music in the 17thand 18th centuries, somewhere between science, nature and culture. A program that celebrates ancient instruments!
